Investing in the Experience

These technologies are not about spectacle alone—they are about creating exceptional experiences in an intimate, 500-seat venue where every detail matters. By investing in spatial audio, immersive projection, and expressive lighting at a level usually reserved for larger stages, the HOPE Center offers audiences the chance to experience performance with unprecedented clarity, depth, and immediacy. It is this marriage of world-class production and close-up intimacy that makes the HOPE Theater unlike any other performance space in the region.

The HOPE Theater is the first performing arts center in the country to install the L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound system by L-Acoustics, featuring a full surround array of 51 speakers. L-Acoustics is a world leader in professional sound, trusted by top concert halls and international tours for its unparalleled fidelity and innovation. Rather than blending performances into a single haze, L-ISA’s spatial design unmasks each instrument—separating overlapping tones so that every voice, rhythm, and nuance stands out with extraordinary clarity. The result is a richly layered, high-fidelity soundscape that envelops listeners and dissolves the boundary between stage and seat.

Every inch of the stage—including the floor—becomes part of the story thanks to high-powered Barco projection mapping. With more than 130,000 lumens of brightness and over 34 million pixels, the system transforms the HOPE stage into a living canvas for color, imagery, and movement. Because of the theater’s unique in-the-round architecture, audiences see the entire stage floor from every angle, making the visual experience immersive, detailed, and unforgettable.

The HOPE Center’s lighting rig blends theatrical precision with the dynamic energy of live performance. Fully programmable and designed for subtlety as well as spectacle, it sculpts mood, motion, and atmosphere—sometimes architectural and understated, other times bold and kinetic. In every performance, lighting works in harmony with sound and projection to deepen the emotional connection between artist and audience.

Youth Engagement

The HOPE Center is not only a venue for world-class performances — it is also a laboratory for learning. Through a wide array of free programs in performing, visual, and technical arts, local middle and high school students are invited to explore their creativity, gain hands-on experience, and discover new pathways for expression. These opportunities extend well beyond the classroom, placing youth directly at the heart of our productions.

At every concert in the HOPE Theater, young people work side by side with our professional staff, serving as stagehands, shadowing lighting and sound engineers, and assisting technicians with projection and spatial audio systems. Several students are advancing further through structured internships, preparing for future careers in technical fields ranging from live sound to film production. This behind-the-scenes engagement ensures that each performance is not only a cultural experience for audiences, but also a training ground for the next generation of artists, makers, and innovators.
