Intergenerational Art Making Program

We are seeking older adults to join our very first Intergenerational Art Making Program at HOPE Center for the Arts!

We are excited to offer a safe and supportive space to explore the arts and encourage intergenerational collaboration through art making between Springfield’s older adults aged 65+ and youth ages 13-18. This program is part of an intergenerational initiative led by the Public Health Institute of Western MA to increase intergenerational social connections in Springfield.

Support for this program was provided by a grant from the philanthropic arm of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan, Point32Health Foundation.

WHY INTERGENERATIONAL?
Connecting across generations enriches lives and deepens perspective. There is so much to learn and share between different ages. These connections can improve mental and physical well-being. Creative arts is also a powerful tool where all ages can find a mutual place to discover, express, and support one another.
