Few artists embody the brilliance and spirit of jazz like Arturo Sandoval. A protégé of the legendary Dizzy Gillespie and a true virtuoso of the trumpet, Sandoval has thrilled audiences around the world with a sound that is both technically dazzling and deeply expressive. Fusing bebop, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and his own boundless imagination, he has built a career that spans decades and has earned him multiple Grammy Awards, an Emmy, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
“Born into poverty in Cuba and held back by his government, he risked everything to share his gifts with the world. In the decades since, this astonishing trumpeter, pianist and composer has inspired audiences in every corner of the world and awakened a new generation of great performers. He remains one of the best ever to play.” ~ President Barack Obama
For longtime jazz enthusiasts, Sandoval’s return is a rare and eagerly anticipated event. Known for performances that balance breathtaking command with emotional fire, Sandoval remains at the height of his powers—bringing audiences not only the brilliance of his horn, but also his skill as a pianist, composer, and educator.
