HOPE Center for the Arts offers a free after school arts program for youth to train in professional creative disciplines. Students work with teaching artists, use industry-standard tools, and complete real projects in a collaborative studio environment.
Classes meet five days a week. Students choose from areas including music, film, theater, dance, technical arts, and more. Each class is hands-on and team-based. Students create original work, learn to use professional equipment, and support each other across disciplines.
All programs are free to Springfield residents and emphasize hands-on learning with professional equipment, mentorship from working artists, and opportunities to support live performances and events. Young people at HOPE build creative and technical skills, and also gain experience with communication, collaboration, and time management. The program supports career exploration and skill development in high-opportunity fields.
This comprehensive programming model ensures that every student can find their entry point into the arts while providing clear pathways for those ready to pursue advanced training and professional opportunities.
